The Civil Engineering department is considered one of the oldest engineering disciplines, Civil Engineering involves planning, designing, and executing structural works. The profession deals with a wide variety of engineering tasks including designing, supervising, and construction activities of public works like roads, bridges, tunnels, buildings, airports, dams, waterworks, sewage systems, ports, etc., and offers a multitude of challenging career opportunities. The Department of Civil Engineering was started in the year 2010. The Department has well-experienced, dedicated faculty members with different fields of specialization Structural Engineering, Water Resources, Environmental, Soil Mechanics & foundation, and Remote Sensing. The Department is well equipped with the latest equipment in the Survey Lab, Strength of Materials Lab, Hydraulics Lab, Concrete & Highway Engg Lab, CADD Lab, Soil Mechanics Lab Environmental Engineering Lab, and Advanced Structural Engg Lab.
To inculcate students with ingenious technical knowledge and ethical skills to develop qualified Civil Engineers
We empower students to become innovative problem-solvers who can address the critical infrastructure challenges of the 21st century with technical expertise, sustainability, and ethical responsibility. Our future-ready curriculum and student-focused teaching prepare graduates to be leaders in shaping a resilient and developed society.
The scope of Civil Engineering is vast and essential, encompassing sectors like infrastructure development, urban planning, environmental protection, water resource management, transportation, and construction. With national initiatives like Gati Shakti, Smart Cities Mission, and a focus on sustainable development, there is an unprecedented demand for skilled civil engineers.
Our program equips students with core competencies in structural design, construction management, geotechnics, surveying, and cutting-edge software tools, enabling them to excel in both national and global markets.
Exposure to advanced and interdisciplinary domains aligned with India's development goals and global trends.
Civil Engineering graduates are highly sought after across construction, infrastructure, consulting, and multinational organizations.
A wide spectrum of stable and prestigious opportunities are available through competitive examinations, direct technical recruitments, and public sector organizations.
The department at NPRCET fosters a dynamic ecosystem of research and industry engagement. Students are encouraged to participate in funded projects, research activities, publications, and patent development.
Through advanced laboratories including Concrete, Surveying, Environmental, and Geotechnical Engineering Labs, students gain practical research exposure.
Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with leading construction companies, consultancies, and government organizations facilitate internships, industrial visits, software training programs, guest lectures, and live projects, ensuring industry readiness.
Beyond technical proficiency, the department instills strong ethical values, safety awareness, sustainability principles, and social responsibility.
Students are encouraged to develop infrastructure solutions that are environmentally conscious, inclusive, resilient, and beneficial to society.
Our graduates contribute significantly to clean water systems, disaster-resistant structures, sustainable cities, efficient transportation networks, and national development initiatives that improve the quality of life for communities worldwide.
