Women Development Cell

About Women Development Cell

Women Development and Gender Equality are the most important requirements for the enlistment and progress of our nation. To make NPR College of Engineering and Technology a strong kernel of gender sensitization, the Women Development Cell (WDC) was constituted in 2013. The Cell has both the faculty and students of the institution as its members and works with an aim to create a gender sensitized community within the campus as well as in the society. Its aim is to create a gender sensitized community within the campus as well as in the society. It has been organizing varied academic, technical, medical, cultural and social events for the up- liftment of women and spread the real importance of gender equality in the society through the College students.

The Women Development Cell (WDC) is committed to work towards the women outside the safe spaces and not so privileged backgrounds as well. By fostering mechanisms that safeguard fundamental rights of more than fifty percent of the student population, staff and the faculty, WDC has created its own special niche in the institute circles and also outside the campus. Our students engage with local women in their own home towns and streets and provide help to the women workforce by making them aware about their rights of equal pay, gender parity and other aspects that need attention.

The aim and objective of the WDC is to prevent sexual harassment at workplace and to promote general wellbeing of female students, teaching and non-teaching women faculty in the institute. The cell is also responsible to undertake the awareness programmes on gender sensitization, women rights and women empowerment in university campus.
