Welcome to the Office of the Controller of Examinations

The Office of the Controller of Examinations was established in the year 2023, following the conferment of Autonomous status to the college by the UGC. The office is vested with the responsibility of organizing and conducting End Semester Examinations for all UG and PG programmes offered by the College.

Core Responsibilities

  • Conducting End Semester Examinations.
  • Processing and publishing results in a timely manner.
  • Compiling grades and declaring results after approval by the Result Passing Board (RPB).
  • Issuing certificates, including Statements of Grades and Consolidated Statements of Grades.
  • Sending a list of successful candidates with their Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) to Anna University, Chennai, for the issuance of Provisional and Degree Certificates.

Examinations are held twice per academic year, in November and April. The Controller of Examinations also ensures the smooth functioning of Continuous Assessment tests.

Detailed List of Responsibilities

A Academic and Student Administration

  • Collection of student bio-data.
  • Mapping of elective subjects for the current semester.
  • Ensuring students' attendance percentage throughout the semester.
  • Managing cases of lack of attendance, debarred students, and withdrawals.

B Continuous Internal Assessment (CIA)

  • Conducting Continuous Internal Assessment Tests for students of various UG/PG Programmes.
  • Preparation of exam schedules, hall allocation, and seating arrangements for CIA.
  • Collection of question papers from departments, printing, and dissemination for CIA tests.

C Examination Planning & Execution

  • Preparation of exam schedules for End Semester Examinations.
  • Collection and scrutiny of question papers obtained from faculty of various institutions/universities.
  • Collection of Practical examination schedules from departments.
  • Appointment of External Examiners for practical examinations.
  • Appointment of Hall Invigilators, preparation of Hall Plans, Seating arrangements, Squad teams, and Chief Superintendents.

D Evaluation and Results

  • Preparation of a Panel of Examiners from various institutions/universities.
  • Appointment of Evaluators, Chief Examiners, and Chairmen for Valuation.
  • Publication of Results.

E Student Services & Grievances

  • Conducting Malpractice meetings (if any) via the Malpractice Committee.
  • Conducting revaluation and issuing photocopies of answer scripts to students.
  • Publishing revaluation results and managing the review process.
  • Printing of Statements of Grades and Consolidated Statements of Grades.
  • Issuing Duplicate Grade Sheets/Certificates.

F Graduation and Verification

  • Conduction of Graduation Day and issuing degree certificates.
  • Assisting in student background verification processes.
