The department offers a two-year full-time MBA programme, designed as per Anna University curriculum, which provides students with a comprehensive understanding of developing, implementing, and evaluating organizational strategies in a dynamic business environment.
To enrich academic learning, the department regularly organizes guest lectures, HR Connect programs, workshops, industrial visits, outbound training programmes (including trekking), Coffee with CEO meet-ups, and activities focused on entrepreneurship and leadership development, with active participation from industry and corporate experts.

Our MBA programme is designed in accordance with the Anna University curriculum, integrating contemporary management concepts with real-world business practices. As an educator and researcher with over 13 years and 8 months of teaching and academic administration experience, I strongly believe that continuous learning, innovation, discipline, and ethical practices are the cornerstones of successful management professionals. Dr. B. Velmurugan is an academician, researcher, and academic leader serving as the Professor and Head of the Department of Management Studies at NPR College of Engineering & Technology. With over 13 years and 8 months of teaching and academic administration experience in Management Education, he specializes in Finance and Human Resource Management with expertise in Banking Management, Compensation Management, Training & Development, Recruitment Management, and Labour Welfare. His teaching philosophy integrates theoretical knowledge with practical business applications, preparing students to meet evolving industry demands.
Dr. B. Velmurugan completed his Master of Business Administration (MBA) with specialization in Finance and Human Resources from Anna University, Chennai in 2012. He further pursued advanced research in Management and was awarded M.Phil. and Ph.D. in Management from Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in 2019.
He has made significant scholarly contributions to Management Studies by publishing 67 research articles in reputed National and International journals, including UGC-listed and Scopus-indexed journals. He has presented research papers at numerous National and International Conferences, actively promotes research culture among faculty and students, and guides student projects emphasizing analytical and industry-relevant learning.
His major research interests include Financial Management, Investment Analysis, Banking & Capital Markets, Human Resource Practices, and Organizational Development. Beyond academics, he actively contributes as a resource person for Outbound Training and Faculty Development Programmes across Tamil Nadu, promotes leadership development, experiential learning, industry interaction, employability enhancement, and curriculum development aligned with contemporary business needs. His leadership emphasizes holistic development by combining academic excellence with professional competence to nurture future business leaders.
