Hostel Rules

1Admission & Allotment

• Hostel admission is granted on an annual/semester basis.
• Room allotment is done by the Hostel Warden/Administration.
• Students must occupy only the room allotted to them.
• Room change is permitted only with prior written approval.
• Hostel fees must be paid within the stipulated time.

2General Discipline

• All residents must maintain discipline and decorum.
• Respect towards wardens, staff, and fellow students is mandatory.
• Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited (as per anti-ragging laws).
• Use of abusive language, violence, or misconduct is not allowed.
• Students must carry their ID cards at all times.

3Attendance & Timings

• Hostel gate closes at the prescribed time (e.g., 9:00 PM / 10:00 PM).
• Late entry requires prior permission from the warden.
• Night-out is allowed only with written permission from parents/guardians and approval of the warden.
• Attendance may be taken daily at a fixed time.

4Visitors Policy

• Visitors are allowed only during permitted hours.
• Visitors must register at the security desk.
• Visitors are not allowed inside rooms.
• No outsider is permitted to stay overnight.

5Room & Property Care

• Residents are responsible for the cleanliness of their rooms.
• Damage to hostel property will be charged to the concerned student.
• Rearranging or shifting hostel furniture without permission is prohibited.
• Regular inspections may be conducted by hostel authorities.

6Cleanliness & Hygiene

• Students must maintain personal hygiene and keep common areas clean.
• Littering in corridors, bathrooms, or premises is strictly prohibited.
• Waste should be disposed of in designated bins.
• Cooking inside rooms is not allowed.

8Use of Electricity & Appliances

• Students should switch off lights and fans when not in use.
• Unauthorized electrical appliances are not allowed.
• Overloading sockets is strictly prohibited.

9Mess Rules

• Mess timings must be strictly followed.
• Food should not be wasted.
• Utensils must not be taken outside the mess area.
• Complaints regarding food should be reported to the mess in-charge.

10Study Hours

• Silence must be maintained during study hours.
• Loud music or gatherings in rooms are not permitted.
• Use of speakers is prohibited in common areas.

11Safety & Security

• Students must not engage in activities that compromise safety.
• In case of emergency, inform the warden immediately.
• Tampering with fire safety equipment is strictly prohibited.

12Leave Rules

• Students must fill out a leave application form before leaving the hostel.
• Emergency leave must be informed to the warden immediately.
• Parents/guardians may be contacted for verification.

13Disciplinary Action

Violation of hostel rules may result in:

• Warning
• Fine
• Suspension from the hostel
• Expulsion from the hostel
• Further disciplinary action by college authorities
