Through our value-added courses, every student is given the opportunity to excel, and alumni frequently attest that earning a degree here is an unparalleled experience. The department maintains strong industry linkages, notably with the ICT Academy of Tamil Nadu, enhancing practical exposure and employability. Our dedication to excellence is reflected in the 13 university ranks achieved in Anna University examinations. "Furthermore, the B.E. Computer Science and Engineering programme has been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) for the academic years 2024–2025, 2025–2026, and 2026–2027. The accreditation is valid up to 30 June 2027." The sanctioned intake for the B.E.Computer Science and Engineering program has evolved over the years, beginning with 60 students in 2008-09, expanding to 120 students in several academic years, thereby enabling us to nurture and develop talented professionals ready to contribute meaningfully to the ever-changing technology landscape.

Conduct investigations of complex engineering problems using research-based knowledge including design of experiments, modelling, analysis & interpretation of data to provide valid conclusions.
Create, select and apply appropriate techniques, resources and modern engineering & IT tools, including prediction and modelling recognizing their limitations to solve complex engineering problems.
Analyze and evaluate societal and environmental aspects while solving complex engineering problems for its impact on sustainability with reference to economy, health, safety, legal framework, culture and environment.
Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics, human values, diversity and inclusion; adhere to national & international laws.
Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse/multi-disciplinary teams.
Communicate effectively and inclusively within the engineering community and society at large, such as being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations considering cultural, language, and learning differences.
Apply knowledge and understanding of engineering management principles and economic decision-making and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, and to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.

The department was established in 2008 with an intake of 120 students, with a vision to provide quality education and nurture competent engineering professionals. Since its inception, the department has been committed to academic excellence and the holistic development of students.
Our curriculum is designed to build a strong foundation in core areas such as programming, data structures, algorithms, software engineering, and computer networks. In addition, we encourage students to explore emerging technologies including Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Cyber Security, Cloud Computing, and Full Stack Development to meet industry demands.
We strongly believe in a practical-oriented approach to learning. Through well-equipped laboratories, real-time projects, and industry interaction, we ensure that students gain hands-on experience and are prepared to solve real-world challenges effectively.
